Meet Ivy Rowan

Behind the name is someone who has taught and mentored young designers, shaped curricula, and worked closely with the textile industry, from handlooms and natural fibers to the way clothes are made, worn and thrown away. Those years made one thing very clear: most of the choices that harm our planet are habits, and habits begin in childhood.

So Ivy Rowan began writing for the youngest readers.

Why start so young?

Children aged four to seven are learning how the world works. They ask "why?" all day long, they copy what they see, and they feel deeply for every living thing, whether a bird building its nest, a squirrel burying a nut or a flower opening at night.

That is the right moment to plant a seed. When a child learns early that leaves can be stitched, that clothes can be mended, that rivers need care and that every thread has a story, caring for nature stops being a rule. It becomes part of who they are.

What we believe

• Kindness to nature is learned early. A child who feels for a bird's nest will grow up caring for forests, rivers and everything that lives in them.
• Children learn by choosing, not by being told. Our stories never lecture. They invite children to think, try and choose again.
• Small choices shape a big world. Mending a shirt, sharing a toy or asking "where does it come from?" can seem tiny. Together, a generation of such choices puts nature back at the heart of how we live.

The name

Ivy clings, climbs and keeps growing. Rowan is a hardy tree whose bright berries feed birds all winter. Together they stand for stories that grow, with the children who read them.

The stories, characters and lessons are written and designed by Ivy Rowan. The illustrations are created with the help of AI tools, and every page is art-directed and checked by Ivy Rowan.
